Sailing San Diego

We bought our bigger boat and new to us home Catalpa II in San Diego 2022. Even though we spent nearly a year there fixing her up getting her ready to sail we unfortunately didn’t see much else or sail much in the area. It was a long slow and costly project that we don’t regret but wouldn’t do again.

But a side from the struggle financially and frustration of boat work in an expensive city we loved the experience and people we met. Like we always say it’s the people that make the places we visit and this was no different. The kindness and generosity we felt there was amazing and even though we would do it differently we learnt a lot and grew from this very challenging experience.

We now have our dream boat sailing in Mexico. The Boat Work is not over and we will be on the hard stand over hurricane season back at it getting her ready to continue sailing the world.
